Present-Day Sea Monsters

A sea monster is a sea-dwelling, legendary, or mythical beast said to be of massive size with first reported sightings for many centuries. These monsters consist of dragons, sea-serpents, and multi-armed beasts. The drawings that you see of them ordinarily show them attacking ships. They were a sailor's peril, but are they still a threat today?

We may look back at drawings of these odd seeing fish our ancestors have drawn and say, what were they thinking? However, what makes you think our descendants won't look back on us and say the same thing? Despite the rapid development of technology with underwater radars and Gps systems, the saying "Legends never die" can still enounce its validity. There are more then a handful of legendary sea monsters maybe still dwelling in the waters of the Earth today. I can even recall watching a television episode on the History Channel a few weeks back about two scientists searching for a legendary octopus said to be of massive size and in existence for hundreds of years. They haven't found the creature, but they did secure a whole of attractive pictures that can only make the creature's existence more probable.

Ufo Sightings

Sure, we can go on about what may be out there but have we ever stopped and asked ourselves, what was out there? Have we ever captured or accounted for the remains of one of these creatures? The riposte is yes.

"Cadborosaurus willsi", aka "Caddy", was a giant sea-serpent who was reportedly living on the Pacific Coast. There have been reports of seeing this beast more than three hundred times in the past two-hundred years.

Caddy was not the only sea creature
to be in the spotlight. In 1896, Lusca, a giant Octopus, was washed up on the Florida Coast. This octopus was spotted numerous times from the blue holes in the Bahamas.

So even though how ridiculous these sea creatures may look in drawings from centuries ago, they are not that far off from portraying the basic body structure of some creatures given the evidence that we have seen in the early 1900s when these carcasses have washed up. How many of these creatures are still living in the waters today? They could be anywhere. Most likely, they are deep in the ocean where technology can't find them, still manufacture those few second glimpses to keep the legend alive. You never know what can make tomorrow's headlines. Maybe we will see a photo of other sea monster accounted for, giving us more data about these creatures.
